We had the opportunity to visit Barcelona, Spain recently. While we were there we stayed at a cute boutique hotel called Villa Emilia. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood near the heart of everything you would want to see or do. The decor' is very cool, trendy, sleek and very inviting. They have a wonderful roof top lounge perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel is located one block from the metro and usually one or two tops from all the hot spots including La Rambiz. There is a wonderful patisserie (bakery) a couple blocks away where we could get fresh doughnuts or pastries every morning. We would also head over to the La Boqueria Market and enjoy fresh squeezed fruit juices or fresh fruit. The market is worth a trip no matter what your interest.
Many of the guide books didn't recommend the Miro museum, but we went anyway. We found this to be one of our favorites. It is located in a beautiful park, so prior to the museum we took a nice stroll around the park and happened on a cute restaurant to relax and have a cool drink on their patio. It was a nice combination of art and outdoor park.
I highly recommend a visit to Barcelona. It is one of the most beautiful, exciting, and easy to navigate cities we have been visited.
